The starter solenoid is attached on the starter. It acts as a solenoid to pull in the yoke that engages the gear to the starter motor and flexplate/flywheel. It also acts as the relay that passes switched current from the battery to the starter.

You will also notice STARTER MOTOR/SOLENOID which means both of them.........

Personally I would replace any fuse links with inline fuses if the links were blown.
