Hey guys. Just got a 92 SHO. Drove it an hour home parked it. Went back out later to check out some stuff and peek around, it is my first Gen 2 SHO. Came out in the morning to get something out and the front lights started blink. So were lights in the interior. I figured I must've tripped the alarm somehow. I tried to start it, but no dice. The lights stopped blinking, but still can't start it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
There was no honking, were alarm systems stock on these? I am not even sure.

Mine has an alarm on it, and I think it's stock or dealer installed, as it's got Ford stickers all over it. There is a button you have to push... on my car, it's right above the handle you pull to get to the interior fuse panel. Is there a blinking red button next to your autolamp sensor way up there on the dash? Is it blinking constantly? If it is, that means the system is tripped and you'll have to find and push taht button before you can start it. After you get it started, hit the blinking red light until it only blinks twice at a time... that means it's off. I hope this helps.

here's some pics I took of my system... I have a 94 atx.

thanks for the pictures this really helps. I had to go back "home" to title and tag it since i got it out of state while working. But there is a blinking red light, its right on the steering column though, and I did press a little button on it the night before, so that may have armed it. I will have to look for the switch when i get back to it today. I'll let you know how i make out.

Yeah, those pictures were in response to a thread claiming there was no such thing as a factory alarm system.

Anyhoo, you arm/dearm the system via the blinking red light. To disarm the system after it's been triggered, you press the little black button that doesn't blink.

And also, yes, now you know my door code.

I wonder which dealer had my car... I should totally look that up. Would carfax have that info?

And, would the dealer have records going back that far?

i figured mine out. It was a little different. The light was on top of the steering column and there was an itsy bitsy black button on it. I have to put the key in and turn it to the on position, then press the little button, then start.
That leaves it armed the next time you get out. If I press and hold it, it deactivates the system.
Thanks again for the pics, got me lookin in the right direction.

Sweet! Glad I could help. I've kept those pictures in my PB account for 4 years now, just in case I'd need them again...
