Has anyone installed there own alarm system which included the keyless entry? I was thinking of buying an alarm system from ebay but am wondering if all the wiring may be a little out of my expertise. Advise me if you have done it.
Thanks

I not 100% sure but I think it would be plug and play. Base modles all the way up to the sho have the same wiring harness. So all you should have to do is find were the connectors are tucked away and plug them in when you install the key pad, brain (alarm), and keyless entry box.

I'm not talking about trying to install the stock keyless entry pad on my sho. I am talking about installing an aftermarket alarm system that included remote keyless entry. I need to know how difficult it is to install an aftermarket alarm system in the sho.
thanks

It all depends on how confident you are in your ability to do the install. Remember, the install is only going to be as good as the installer. I myself have installed many remote starters/ alarms before. Another thing to consider is, how many features/ options are you going to hook up. Are you going to be able to identify wires as to what they do? A multimeter is a must if you want to do a quality job. Connectors, wire taps, etc. must be of high quality too. None of that taping up wires with electrical tape bullsh*t. I can give you some examples of the custom work I've done to my own SHO. Feel free to ask any questions. thumbs_u

P.S. I'd get an alarm/remote starter for the best value.

Does your car currently have the factory RKE? If so, there are leads that you can tie into with the aftermarket system which allow them to work together (so that the keypad on the door will still work, and disarm the new alarm, etc.), as well as the locks, trunk, etc.

It's actually easier to tie in an aftermarket system in a car with an existing RKE than without since all the leads are right under the driver's side kick panel. The most 'complicated' part at that point is just tieing in the starter interrupt.

If there's no existing RKE, it's a little more complicated, but not that much. Just takes a little longer tracing the leads you need to tie into.

My sho did not come with the remote keyless entry pad on the door. So all I want is the alarm, with start interupt, I want the remote button to unlock the doors for me, and I want the alarm to chirp when you set or disarm the alarm. Just a basic alarm system. So should this be much trouble putting in?
thanks

Not too hard, but figure on the better part of a day to do it if you've never done one before. A Taurus wiring diagram will help save you a lot of time with a meter.
