Air bag code 22

So, I take off from a light pretty normally in my 92, after which the ABS light lights up, followed by code 22 from my air bag light. Minute or so later, the EATC begins to randomly shut itself on and off (not just air, the entire unit).

Through a search I found code 22 is " Safing Sensor Output Shorted to Battery Voltage"

Anyone able to explain that to me? Would that also be the cause of my ABS light and EATC issue? Never really had any electrical problems in the past.

It sure sounds like your alt might be going bad. Check your output voltage or take it somewhere than can test it for you. Strange things start when the voltage is low. EATC is usually acts up.

Ok, so I've driven it a couple times since then. The issue is still present, but a small update.

After sitting and restarting, everything is normal. No lights, air works, everything fine. After a minute or two driving the ABS light comes on, followed by the air bag code again as well as an EATC that completely shuts off. Once the EATC shuts down, the dash lights (speedo, tach, etc.) get brighter than I've ever seen them.

If I sit long enough without driving and the car is still running, the EATC will eventually come back on and the air will work, though I still have the lights and codes flashing. Once I start driving again, the EATC will shut off.

Does this sound like an alternator issue? Everything seems to work fine with the car on as long as it's only idling, and only acts up when driving. I do need a new battery, as it won't hold a charge for too long without me driving it daily. Not sure if that could be part of the problem either. Thanks for the help.

Definitely sounds like an alternator issue to me; I had a very similar experience resolved by installing a "new" alternator (Bosch brand, in my case). I think at one point I was getting 17.5-18V output from the alternator (!), not good.
