So my lease is up in November, a newer 2013 SHO is on the list of possible replacements though not definite if it will be the choice.

Over the last 3 years it's been a great car to drive.

My only complaints:
2010 Sync/Nav software couldn't be updated to newer stuff to support text messages on more phones
Had the blend door re-circ actuator problem occur.
Chrome peeling on rear taillight surrounds.
Sometimes have a transmission shift hesitation/bang in that dealer wouldn't do anything about because they couldn't get it to repeat.
Can't disable the vent option on the remote... normally not a problem, until you accidentally open your windows and sunroof in the rain without knowing.
Couldn't get a spiffy OEM remote start for my 2010.
No way to get the back doors to unlock/open on a handle pull (even with "child mode" disabled).
Never could really figure out the lumbar on the "advanced massaging" seats.
City milage was a little disappointing.

My loves:
The car is fast...amazingly fast for how huge it is without having gobs of HP/TQ.
The car is huge. I could easily fit 5 bodies in the trunk (hey, I'm from Jersey)...no but really, golf outtings with friends not an issue.
Sync and the system built into the car didn't require me to instantly seek aftermarket radio.
Showing people that this "isn't the mom's Taurus"
Everyone loved the way the SHO looked, and then even more surprised by its interior.
Didn't think I'd use the smart-cruise control as much as I actually did.

So I may get another, but we'll see, shopping the options right now. I was originally going to head to a MKZ hybrid (2013), but it seems they're not out to spring, which is too far off.

I know you hate doing anything to a lease car but my trans hesitation went away with my tune. Also read Ford had new trans strategy that pretty much ironed it out.

Get another or you will miss it!

I just had the two TSBs performed on my car (2011) to address the transmission issues and they do seem to have really improved the way the transmission functions. I was expecting a fight from the dealer since I've only had the symptoms 3 times in 2 years, but they flashed the PCM and installed the valve body gaskets/separator plates without issue for me.

I think the new MKZ will end up making it out by the end of the year, but not sure on the Hybrid, it might be a little late to the game. It's a beautiful car! I've seen multiple in person and can't wait for it to hit the streets.

Now it's gonna be a smaller car in and out than the SHO, just so you know and the Hybrid has a battery pack packaged under the trunk floor so it reduces your cargo capacity a bit, but I don't know the overall volume off hand. It def won't be as fast as the SHO too, but will get way better mileage, obviously.

The updated Lincoln MKS with the adaptive suspension is pretty nice too and now has 365hp with the EcoBoost, matching the SHO (which I'm not that happy about since it doesn't make it very SHO anymore).

I know someone who was going to replace his current leased MKZ Sport with a '13 MKZ this fall, but his dealer made him one **** of a sweet deal on a lease for a '12 MKZ (also a Sport). Apparently, they have (or had) some pretty good incentives on the current models to clear the lots for the new ones, and the new ones likely won't have any incentives available; by the time this lease is up, the "new" should be worn off the new CD4 MKZ, so he figures he'll likely be able to negotiate a better deal on a new one.

May be something to investigate...

Maybe i missing it but the turbo is a 4cyl with 240 hp and the other is a 3.7 creating 300hp. I would like to see the sho engine a 3.7 liter with turbo, maybe bump up the hp to 400 before a tune.

I went from a 2010 SHO to a 2013 SHO recently.

The 2013 is much more refined, now that the product has been out for a few years. The Adaptive Cruise Control in particular is MUCH smoother in operation than it was on my '10. MyFord Touch has its little issues now and then, but I'm very satisfied with it. I absolutely love the dual LCD screens on the dash.

A fella I know who owns a G8 is a metalurgical engineer and worked as a consultant on the EB engine during development
.
Ford engine design engineers tried 3.7 L versions of the turbo'd engine and found they would blow up after a few miles. He never explained why, likely because of confidentiality agreement(s).

So no headroom in the engine bay like with the old 3/3.2L sixes? At least we've got the tunes :)

After a nasty accident with my 2010 SHO about two months before lease turn in and then a 3 month wait waiting for 2013 MKZs I went with a 202A+options 2013 MKS.

The MKZ was nice, but I'm a larger guy and once I set up the driver side seat for me there was no way anyone would be able to sit behind me with legs. On top of that, I couldn't fit in the back of the MKZ. With the down sloping roofline there was not enough headroom - I'm just shy of 6'3". I'd say you can't be bigger then 6' and sit in the back of a 2013 MKZ. The glass roof was nice though.

Aha! This may explain a mystery I'm trying to solve (which is why I'm on this forum today). A couple of times recently, I've gone out to my SHO in the morning to find the front windows rolled down and the sun roof tilted up. I couldn't figure it out, since I knew I hadn't left it that way. What is the vent option on the remote, and how is it activated/disabled?

ok - found the remote vent thread. I'm good to go. I would prefer to disable this option though - just seems too easy to accidentally leave your car unlocked and open to intruders. I suppose it's not any different to accidentally unlocking it with the remote. Just need to be more careful of what buttons I'm pushing.

On my new MKS it's configurable in the my touch options... You have a newer or older SHO?
