When I pull up to a light or something where I stop and idle for a bit after maybe 15-20 seconds of idleing my 90 SHO, 124k will idle down to like 4-500rpms and occasionally it will die. It recovers and idles back up to 900 after about 5 seconds. When it dies it will start right up and idle fine. I dont know if its connected but it sputters on start up if you start it after maybe a half an hour of running it. I thought I read that someone else was having these problems and it was thier air charge temp sensor? Is that possible and is the act in my airbox itself? Thank you ahead of time.

Have you had any CHECK ENGINE lights lately? The ACT sensor will not fail without registering a code with the EEC. Your condition sounds more like the idle air control (IAC) valve not doing its job. Have you disconected the battery recently? If that is the case, you probably just need to teach the engine how to idle again. You do this by disconnecting the battery for about 15 minutes with the headlight switch on. This clears the RAM in the EEC. Turn off the headlight switch and reconnect the battery. Start the engine and let the idle settle for about 15-20 seconds. Now, within 70 seconds after first starting the engine, add all the accessory loads that the engine sees at idle (A/C to MAX, headlights ON, turn steering wheel side to side). If this doesn't correct the problem, you may need to either clean or replace the IAC valve.

Scott, thank you. I did disconnect the battery and I am not sure but that may be when it all started. I will try that and if it doesnt work its all to possible the IAC needs cleaning or replace. I just bought the car and it looks like the previous owner/s did not know what maintenance is.
