So on saturday the sho wouldnt shut off (95 mtx 125k miles). Take it apart and find that its the plastic rod inside the steering column. So I used the switch that the rod actuates and it starts the car and shuts if off, but when key is off position and removed the radio, clock, and windows stay on. Also it has started stalling when I let off the gas. I did the idle reset and went for test drive and still stalling. The stall never happened before. Just coincidence? I'm lost right now with the accesories staying on.

If you're using the actual slider switch to turn the car on and off, you've probably just slid it back too far into the accessory position. It's at the opposite end of that slide switch.

That's exactly what my problem was. I was looking at it as simply a switch on and off that's it. Then thought about it in bed last night and figured if it was directly connected to the key cylinder then sliding the switch all the way back would actually be accessories. Thanks man I was just so frustrated with this thing that I overlooked the simplest thing.
