FFR has both a true 4->1 and a fake 4->1, where it looks like a 4->1 but there's really only one pipe. I assume he's using the latter.

This is correct, for the v8 you can buy headers without a collector and they merger at the sidepipe. The other setup is to use stock manifolds or shorty headers and what they call j-pipes to attach the exhaust to the side pipe. I modified the j-pipes to work with my setup. I am not sure yet of if i will be using the sidepipes as they are, the mufflers are glass packs, I have never been a fan of the sound that the SHO has when using glasspacks. I am actually hoping that the turbo quiets the motor enough to lop off the mufflers and attach some 3" pipe.

It does quite a bit, but not enough to use on long trips. Like over a 1/4 mile or so. I lost about 4 hp on The Other Woman when I stuck a muffler on her; but I gained about 30db's of hearing back. Unless I'm at the dragstrip with her, I run the muffler.

I had to mod my pickup tube. Here some pictures. I used from old tubing from a a datsun 210 EGR valve. Well had it laying around and was correct size. Don't look the greatest but doesn't leak. It was tested. Maurice

My oil pan should be all welded up on Tuesday so I will probably be modifying the pickup next weekend. I think mostly it will just have to be shortened but thanks for the picture.
