I charged the system yesterday, well, tried to anyways. I was on the 2nd can of refrigerant when, POP. This hose/connection busted. Is there a connector or something missing (to LOCK it down)? I reconnected it FIRMLY, and it felt like it "clicked". I just want to be sure so I don't waste another $20 on refrigerant if it comes free again.
(sorry for the poor quality)

There is suppose to be a safety clip that will keep it from popping apart, but other than that the "click" you felt is what you should feel if it is properly connected. The garter spring (the spring down inside the larger part) may be damaged and that's why it could have come apart. I replace all the o-rings and springs in my AC system for around $12 from AutoZone.

Jelloslug is right. Replace the garter spring and "O" rings, now that the system is open and empty.

Before you refill the system it must be vacuumed down to 27hg to 30 hg for a minimum of 45 minutes to evacuate any moisture (water). rangerj
