It does seem like the EATC is messed up.

Hold down the "OFF" and "FLOOR" buttons down simultaneously, then within 2 seconds hit the "AUTO" button. The screen will go blank for a while (up to a few minutes) and come up with a code. Tell us what that code is.

If every light in the display comes up and it says "888", it's fine, which means something else is the culprit; most likely the blower motor control unit, which seems to have been failing in a lot of peoples' cars lately!

No code, just like you had said, all 888 and every other light on, but no codes, so most likely its a bad blower motor? The unit is telling it what to do but the blower motor doesnt understand, does that sound correct? and if so where is it located and looking at one on ebay it looks easy enough to install?

The BMSC (or BCM for blower control motor) is actually very easy to replace, unless you've thrown your back out recently!

It's under the glove box. What you need to do is get down under the passenger footwell. There is a plastic splash guard that's held on with these two weird little push-tab thingies. Basically twist or pull as necessary to get them off, it's just a friction fit with the post.

Once it's off, it's fairly hard to miss; it's got one hose and four big wires going to it. One's yellow, one's red, and two smaller multicolored ones. Two 8mm bolts hold it in.

However, before you can remove it you have to unplug it. To do this, you have to remove the glovebox. Open it up, and you'll notice on either side that there are little posts holding it up. Simply squeeze the sides of the glovebox to get the posts around the opening (make sure everything's out of it first!). Now, you'll notice about 1/3 from the left of the opening, three or so plugs all stuck onto a mounting wall. Reach down underneath and yank on the wiring harness at the BCM to figure out which harness it is. The part you need to remove is the part that's stuck in there with a little nylon push thingy. Yank it out. There, it's out! Don't forget the hose attached to it - it only goes on one of the tubes, the other one isn't supposed to have anything hooked up to it.
