ABS system

after my accident last year and then sitting for a month when she was fixed and re assigned after 15 mph my ABS system would come on. now at first if i drove it to work the when iwent to lunch or went home it would not come on.
right before i took it off the rode this winter i took it to ford and they said i need a new HCU unit which is the whole assembly at about 450 bucks. now a month ago when i put her back on the road i didnt come on for 3 weeks then it did.
i dont think there is any damage to the unit but my guess and hopes is i need my brake fluid system cleaned.

There is a relay next to the ABS computer. I let my car set for about three weeks and I got the ABS light. The relay had gotten moisture in it and corroded, I cleand it up and she works fine.

i tried cleaning it up just a little i didnt make a change but i do think you are on to what it might be. i just wish there was a way to run the ABS codes like you can with the engine(good ole paperclip). cause i really dont wanna have to by a code reader or take it to ford.
or is there a way to verify without the codes but i guess that would take some serious ABS knowladge and ive yet to see that outside of 35 dollar an hour techs.
but any suggestions are cool
