i hope my band of SHO brothers and sisters could help me with ONE. i found out recently and painfully that these cars don't have a sensor called the VSS, the od starts flashing and i have to manually shift an auto gen 3 from 1 to drive, my speedo is out and i loose power totally when this happens , my new mechanic told me that the electronic side of the abs module is messing up, are there any ideas out there on how to get my hands on a module if that is the problem

thanks

No i did not, its at the mechanics shop now and he is the one that told me that the module is not communicating, if this is just an ABS related issue can i bypass the abs so i could drive the car??

My car has no ABS and it drives fine.

By no ABS I mean it's all there but "it" doesn't work. Brakes work fine, just have to be sensible when conditions aren't perfect.

You can't bypass the speed signal in the ABS. It will need to be replaced.

My ABS doesn't work in my Gen III either and it hasn't been a problem. I actually found a used module and replaced mine less than a year ago. Thought I had the problem fixed but then shortly after it stopped working again. So I went through all that trouble of replacing it for nothing. Oh well...

Try Midnight Auto's store on ebay. They have a ton of parts for Gen III's. If you don't see one on there, send him a message or something to see if they have one not posted. I bet they do. I've bought a few things from them and have been very satisfied. They just had an ABS pump on there not to long ago. Good luck!

More often than not, the Ford dealer has no idea what the **** they are talking about. Paul (SHOZ123) is a very reliable source. He wouldn't steer you wrong :thumb:

The ABS pump thing is SHO specific. Talk to Ray at Midnight auto on eBay and find a SHO pump.

Yes, I have a Gen III.

Be warned, the battery tray is a real PITA!

Well, just ignore all the knowledge and experience here, and go with what your tech and Ford think. :shakehead

I still doubt you have a dead ABS computer. It's a rare failure. Fuses blowing and the main ABS harness coming loose are far more common.

Regardless, the computer can be replaced without changing the pump.

i know they are 2 different units the pump itself and the module, the problem i am having is the conflicting reports i am seeing on here and elsewhere. now without running the risk of getting responders upset, i mean no disrespect, i wish some one would lay it down and tell me what i need from experience thats all once again thank you
