Okay here is the story.....i have a 95 3.2, when i first bought the car i was checking things out, i had abs light on, so i checked fuse box...well the main high current fusees were missing...so i replaced them...abs went out....but now the abs constantly actuates weather you are regular braking or hard braking????? It always works? I don't understand what would cause the motor to work all the time. Has anyone had this problem? Any info greatly appreciated...

Possibly have bad wheel speed sensors, or damaged/ cracked tone rings that are giving false readings.

When i replaced my calipers and collapsed brake hoses in the rear I did notice the tone rings were very rotted looking, I guess I need to pull code and see which one is bad....thanks... It is weird how the light stays out but the abs is constantly vibrating my pedal while I am driving, even if I am not braking....

I was going to say possible warped rotors but if its doing it while driving it have to agree on a relay. Anything else would through a code.

Brake booster.

Google search brake booster problem symptoms and see if it sounds like the problem you are having.

I'm thinking either that.. or help me out here... aren't the abs sensors the magnet type hall effect? If it dosen't see the ring, or its not lined up, woudln't it think the wheel is stopped all the time?

I had a ring that broke, and 2 teeth were missing, and when it rolled over that it would try to actuate.. not sure what it would do if its missing... I'd at least double check the rings, and make sure the sensors are lined up right first.

Then IIRC, you can test the sensors themselves with an ohm meter. I remember testing mine a while back.

Thanks for all of the input....It occasionally will throw the abs light on after i drive it for a while. I think I am just going to pull the main fuse like the previous owner did.

Don't pull the fuse! Stock sho brakes need it, they suck..... I wouldn't be saying this if you had 96+ brakes in there.. It most likely the ring around the axles man

Yeah I gotta say the halfshaft rings are notorious for cracking and then getting the false actuation under braking...especially more prevalent at lower speeds. Sometimes it's tough to spot but the rust forming underneath the ring causes it to split usually about 1/8" wide at some point around the ring. I've had 3 sho's and of the two that had seen rust both of them had broken rings in the front. I've seen terrible looking rings in the back(severe rust) but they didn't cause a problem at all. Start there and hopefully you don't need any sensors, just some new halfshafts or rings depending on the path you want to go down. I personally just changed out the shafts...figured 130k on the stockers was enough :).

I would argue that if you know your car and its limits well, ABS is unnecessary. Now, having said that, if you're up north where it snows a lot, it's invaluable, but if you're not where it snows a lot, ABS just decreases braking performance for steering control. If you practice threshold braking, and can perform it when needed, ABS is of no use.

I don't like ABS even for winter driving.
