A1 Cardones are common in local parts stores. Has anyone had any issues using their rebuilt stuff (CV joints, steering racks, etc...)?

I sell it on a daily basis. Overall i do not get much back BUT...it is reman parts, there power steering pumps are garbage. A lot of their calipers have helicoils in the bleeders, and odd size bleeder screws. Its come and go, their quality control, in my opinion is not up to par.

The A1 Cardone water pump only lasted 2 years on my car. Of course it went on the way to work in Febuary when it was 5 degrees out.

Reman parts are only as good as the core. If the core has been remanned several times it gets worn out. On the other hand Cardone is the only Remanufacturer to test 100% of their products prior to boxing. Most other remanufacturers test only a % of their production usually less than 10%.

This.

You take your chances with remanned stuff. Especially alts and starters.

what can go wrong with a reman halfshaft? presumably they replace all soft parts (boots etc) and past that its a giant stick of metal that i can't see breaking to easy.

If that were the case then they would never need to be replaced, which would be nice.

Things can still go wrong. Why not get a new one if the price difference isn't much. I think it is worth it for the peace of mind.
