I have a few stupid questions

1. Should trans fluid be checked with the car running or off?

2. The oil symbol that appears in the information Center Is it low oil pressure or low oil

3. How do your rain sensing wipers work ? The manual said use the delay settings but it just delays. And yes I have the sensor.

1) Yes, I believe the manual states the engine should be running and in Neutral.

2) It's a low oil pressure sensor. That could mean very low oil or other problems.

3) For mine I simply turn the **** on the delay which changes sensitivity. As long as it's not in the off position, they will come on automatically when it rains. Also make sure automatic wipers are turned on in the information center.

I can't find anything in the infestation center about enabling them.

Does the car set a code from running without the intake or IAT sensor when checking the fluid ?

What year is your car?

It probably would set a code. However, when i checked mine after a flush all the sensors were connected. All i had to do was remove to bolts holding the air box in place, loosen the hose clamp, and rotate the airbox 90 degrees.

3011, I know the trans has some issues and they might be explained by low fluid

The different wiper delay settings on mine just adjust the sensitivity. As the rain speeds up or slows down so does the wiping interval.

Mine changes the delay interval. It can sunny and clear and on the lowest setting it still acts like delay. I have the camera looking sensor behind the rear view

Post a picture of what you have, from outside and from inside. That will clarify what equipment is in that area. Could be the sensor is faulty or improperly attached, or the equipment is actually for something else.

It will not throw a code with the sensor connected as described by Silver. Transmission should be a normal operating temp when checking the fluid. If you do it when cold, it will read low.

I drove home, from work about 10 miles. It was 95* outside, and its stop and go.
I got home parked, rotated the intake Started it back up and ran it through the gears like the manual says.
The firs pull of ther stick had fluid on it but when i cleaned it off and put it back in. There was no fluid on the stick I put it back in and pulled it out 3 times. Still no fluid.

Im planning on adding some.

It's possible the trans was overtemp at the time you checked. Not sure if that would cause a LOW reading tho. Sounds like it can take at least 1/2 quart.

I'm not sure but I thought the camera by the rear view mirror was for auto high beams. But I could be wrong about that.

the camera is for the high beams.

there is a tiny hole in the windshield near that camera - when water gets in that hole and the sensor behind (inside the cabin, on that stuff by the camera) detects the moisture, then it turns on the wipers.

It takes a long time for the transmission to reach normal operating temp. Ford says around 200 degrees, if I recall correctly. It probably takes a good 20-25 minutes of driving to reach that. In any case, it sounds like yours was low. I would start with 1/2 quart and then check again. If it needs more than a quart, I would be wondering WHY it was low and where the fluid went.

Actually, if there is no evidence of leaks and no evidence that transmission fluid was getting into the PTU, I would do a drain/fill on the transmission using new Mercon LV.

The transmission fluid should be checked at normal operating
temperature 180°F-200°F (82°C-93°C) on a level surface. The normal
operating temperature can be reached after approximately 20 miles
(30 km) of driving.

The transmission fluid level should
be targeted within the cross-hatch
area if at normal operating
temperature 180°F-200°F
(82°C-93°C).
