Well im hoping that this car will last a little before it hits the sh!tter. But isnt that usually when things go wrong?! Right when it will crush your hopes the most!
Issue #1. I am putting this first because i think it might be the cause of my second and possibly thrid problem. I dont really remember it much in the beginning but definately after the car sat through the month of april i notice a whine. Its there at all times and im positive its the fuel pump. Comes from the rear of the car at least! Is this bad? How long can i expect it to survive before i end up on the side of a highway somewhere in the middle of no where when i get no cell phone reception in ice cold rain and the battery dies simultaniously with the windows down?
#2. This one is kinda two sided. The first part may not be an issue at all. But when i start the car that sucker jumps to like 2.1K sticks and then slowly falls. I mean its not bad it just seems excessive to me a little but im not sure
. The second part is although i usually let the car run for a min, when i start going i get an issue. It only happens once or twice before it works itself out. Ill be rolling up to the stop sign out of my drive way, push in the clutch and the rpms jump back up to about 2 k and fall again. After this it usually stops...once all the juices are flowing. Could this be related to the fuel pump...Pre failure issues?
#3. Normally this car runs as smooth as butter, minus the trans issue. But as compared to my old SHO (needed the second 60K about 15 K miles before i bought it) the engine is smooth and there are no smells of exhaust. I go to start it today and see a cloud of smoke pass me by and im like WTF that cant be good. I got out to make sure it wasnt pourin smoke and by the time i opened the door to get out it had worked itself out.
Now granted the oil hasnt been changed in 2 K but when the previous owner did change it before i bought it he forgot the oil filter. I was actually planning on changing everything today when i had some free time before this showed up.
The car has had nothing but Mobile 1 synth since its first oil change and since ive owned it ive put nothing but 92 octane in it. Am i looking at big issues soon before i can afford them. Or will i be able to make the two 100 mile trips over the next month and a half that i have to without any issues. I dont drive it much besides that except to get food and such. Crammed in a college town and never really have to go far.
Ehh let me know what you can with what ive explained. I know its not much and prob wont help anyone diagnose.
