A few codes

Hey all,

Getting a 176 and 647, with a code for cylinder #2. The 647 scares me cause it is now happening frequently in 3rd gear. I was told by some that the ignition coil would be the last thing to replace since OEM parts are superior to newer model. Should i try swapping out spark plug/ wire for #2? vacuum lines will get redone once its nice, but could that cause a 647?

176 is you left or front oxygen sensor is not switching (lean).
647 is improper speed reported in 3rd gear of your automatic transmission (it checks your input and output shafts rotations and reports if it is out of range).

vac lines are not the cause of your trans issue, the 3rd gear clutch slipping is. unfortunately, the solution is a trans rebuild.

the 176 and the miss on #2 could possibly be related, but not likely as #2 is on the right and the code is for the left bank. If the oxy sensors are not relatively new, I would replace them since they are not expensive - that should rule out the sensor as the issue. Then, if the code remains you know you need to find a vacuum leak or you have an injector that is not working right.
