just got a quick question, i broke my EATC unit and im just wondering if an EATC from a '96 Lincoln will be able to take its place?thx

how come it wont work and what would i have to do? when i was doing a EATC and aftermarket radio swap i pulled ribbon from the main board that connects to the front panel of the EATC.

You can de-solder and re-solder the display board onto the old unit. It's one way to do it. :)

Yes, it does require modding. I have the same looking one, out of a 98 lincoln.. Bought it that way, but the process is somewhere on here on how to do it, it involves soldering the rubbon connection from oen to another, and switching the location of a few of the wires.

If there is a panel instead of vent button and their position is swapped, you're gonna have a **** of a time getting it to work. I was unfortunate enough to find a hard button eatc from a lincoln. I was told it was easy as swapping the faces but I gave up on getting the buttons swapped right. Even the eatc master's answer didn't work. It just swapped a few more buttons. All I coudl think of was to modify the switchboard circuit design but luckily I found a good eatc at the junkyard before doing that.
