'96/'97 RCC in a '98/'99

I might as well drop a thread in here before going to TCCA. One of the esteemed Gen3 veterans has graciously sold me 2 RCCs from a '96. So my challenge now will be seeing if there's ANY way to get them to function in a '98. Paul says there are 2 12v wires in run for the 96 but only one for the 98. Anybody experienced with this?

UPDATE: Tech at local dealer had lengthy convo with Ford and the news was not good - RCC from a '96 cannot function in a '98. Something about the way it controls the blower being incompatible. So I'm stuck with not 1 but 2 RCCs from a '96 that I'm told by a reliable seller are both in working order.
So close, yet so far away . . . the search continues.
