Just replaced valve cover gaskets, intake gaskets, plugs & wires. Starts & runs fantastic now cold. Still has the hot soak hard start issue-had it before the above was replaced. Has new CKP, fuel pump less than 2 years old. also has the running with no tach issue-suspecting the CMP. Haven't checked the fuel pressure yet. Am I on the right track?? And, yes, I do work at the Ford dealer but we don't have a drive tech worth his stones to ask these questions of!! Any help is appreciated... you guys are the best!!!

When you replaced the fuel pump did you replace the rubber valve at the end of the return? No tach is a sensor issue.

Also, run several tanks of gas w/ either fuel injector cleaner or acetone in them - this will clean up your injectors in case one or more of them are leaking and causing flooding at hot restart.
Tach issues are typically cam sensor, dis, or the tach wiring.
