Hello All, SOLD
Well the Air Force is moving me from sunny Florida to frigid Fairbanks Alaska. I have to part with a 95 MTX I picked up a year and a half ago that I was in the process of restoring for my wife. I've had a 93 MTX for about 14 years and figured I was getting pretty good at working on them.
I was drawn to the car because it had a very good interior, dash, etc. The only thing I overlooked was some of the rust. I don't know how you rust belt guys/gals do it (I'm from California). Rust sucks...
Anyways, I paid $3K for it and have invested about $2K into it.
The good (past year):
Leather is in great condition
Dash is fantastic!
Fresh Mobil 1 in the trans.
Dynomax catback exhaust
Magnaflow Y-Pipe
New exhaust manifold studs (that sucked
)
Bosch O2 sensors
96 Brake upgrade - new rotors / Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads
Brake booster / master cylinder
Replaced the 4 brake lines (rubber)
New rotors / pads on the rears
New Moog outer tie rod ends
New Moog Sway bar links
New TRW control arms
New Strut rod inner / out bushings (TPR)
Replaced cam seals
New RCM reinforced /front and rear motor mounts
New trans mount
Installed subframe recall kit
Installed (4) Gen 3 subframe bushings
Reman'd front calipers
Replaced camshaft position sensor
Duralast Gold Battery
New upgraded battery cables (2 AWG)
New headliner
Replaced Blower control module
I've already wrestled with many of the major bolts and used antisieze.
Good tread left on tires
The not so good.
Some rust under the front lip of the hood.
Right rear strut should be replaced - would recommend replacing all since they are stock.
Showing some bubbling in the paint here and there especially near the top of the rear window.
AM/FM radio works but CD player and JBL sub don't - haven't had time to look at them.
Some rust on the perimiters of the inner doors
Minor: Black plastic ring aroung ignition spins, does not affect operation (probably has a broken tab or something)
Bottom line: With a paint job, you'd have a nice daily driver SHO. I'd recommend doing a good paint job, (removing the rear window, bumpers), etc.
Prefer local pickup but willing to drop off as far as Jacksonville or Miami.
Asking $2400 - I'm about $5000 into the car. Bought for 3K and invested $2K.
Thanks for looking!
