Hey guys,

Recently, my 1994 Mtx began having a intermittent starting issue. Every once in a while, when turning the key, it would no crank no start. Lights would come on, fan, everything, but no cranking and from what I could hear, no solenoid on the starter, until randomly after a bit of time, it would decide to start for no reason (for example, today I was turning the key, and nothing, but then, the very next key turn started it with no protest from the engine or anything, like nothing had happened).

This happened every once in a blue moon, but recently, it's been happening every day, or even multiple times a day.
What do you guys think it is? I read somewhere it could be a bad wire to the starter, but I want to make sure, as I am quite new to the SHO. I'm pretty sure it's not battery as the car will eventually start after awhile.

The fan comes on at koeo? Unless you have it wired that way that's a sign of a malfunctioning CCRM...not sure if it has anything to do with the starting issue tho

So the "no crank" condition is usually due to either a bad starter solenoid or a bad starter motor, but can also be caused by other obscure things like a bad ignition switch etc. Given your condition is getting steadily worse, it is most likely a starter/solenoid issue.

Start at the device (the starter) and work towards the source (the battery) looking for +12 volts when the key is in the start position and the clutch is depressed. The path is: starter solenoid > clutch safety interupt switch > ignition/start switch on steering column by left knee > thick yellow wire > 60 amp fuse in engine compartment fuse box > Battery
