I was out car shopping today, and I found a '93 SHO that won't start. This car ran one month ago when I looked at it, but now it won't start, it cranks fine, but just won't kick over. Since it won't run, the guy just wants to get what they put into it, so I can get it for $1500.... but I want to know if anyone has any ideas about what's wrong with it??? Just so I know how much work to expect trying to fix it... the dealer said their guess was intake seals. TIA!!!!!

Dealer=Idiot.

CPS would be my first guess. Does it kick hard upon the attempt to start? If it does, it might be Cam position sensor. Intake seals? It doesn't have anything to do with the engine firing. Damn dealer idiots.....

It kicks over normal, just sounds like a car that ain't getting any gas... normal start grind, consistent the whole time the key is turned.

Did the fuel pump cycle?

Focus on the basics... spark, fuel, air (in & out). Once you have those, focus on timing & move from there.

Is the car worth $1500 non-running? I paid $800 for mine, non-running & cause unknown (plugged Y-Pipe).

Good Luck, Kyle.

Ok, I went back today, the fuel pump cycled, it's not the inertial switch. The first time I tried starting it, it ran (although rough) for about 5 seconds, after that, it wouldn't turn over again. I checked the plug wires, and they were nasty (don't think it's had the 60K, and it's at 114,000)Is running rough for a little while when cold, then not starting again signs of a fouled plug?? I don't really know, I've never had all plugs get ****** on my at once, in my Lumina, I had 2 plugs fouled from Anti-freeze, but it didn't have any trouble starting, just hesitated and ran rough. Thanks for any help you guys have :)

my 89 is doing the same thing, i checked plugs and all where good, compression is good too, fuel pressure all the way to the rails i'm getting spark and air, but no fuel. don't know what it is, but has something to do with the computer not fireing the injectors. none of the six where fireing.
