Ok i was on the threads before asking about my stalling problem and another user was able to fix the same symptoms on his car with just cleaning out the Idle Air Control Valve. I tried this hoping to solve all my problems, but when i cleaned it out and put it back together it was worse. i made sure it was all dried out but it didn't seem to help. Now it won't even stay started and the RPMs drop extremely fast.

Does anyone know how that part works exactly, i was a little worried i might have moved something that was set in a perticular spot and it started to choke out the engine.

It was also suggested to me it could be a vaccuum leak, or the trottle position sensor.

Please Help, anything i can try will help. This car has really been a problem child but if i could get it work it would be incredible.

My IAB was bad, replaced it and the MAF. Runs great now.

Stalling when stopping is a problem with the IAB. Have you tried pumping the gas pedal when trying to start it? Does it stay running when you hold down the gas pedal?

If you use a 9 volt battery and apply it across the 2 connections of the IAB, the little cylinder will move in the other end. If its not moving, its not opening and thus letting air into the engine when the throttle is closed (aka, you dont have your foot on the pedal).

Easiest way to test is to pump the gas pedal while cranking...if it starts with no problem and stays running with your foot on the pedal, your IAB is stuck closed...typical problem with a lot of ford vehicles, not just SHO's.

ok i think i've figured out the problem, i removed the IAC valve and hooked up the sensor connection to power and it started to short out and the part would start to act up on its own. NiNeTy Fo SHO, you had it about right. i ordered the part and hopefully that will solve the idleing problem. thanks for all the help everyone
