Hey all.

I recently had issues with my DIS so I replaced it. Everything was working perfect. So I was driving around and everything was fine, got home, got out of the car and did some stuff. Got back in the car about 5 hours later, put the key in the ignition and went to turn her over. Nothing. All interior lights are bright. Battery shows 12.5 volts, 12.5 at the starter as well. The thing is, it doesnt even try to crank. I can hear the fuel pump prime, then Its almost as if I have the car in gear ( which I dont ). Any ideas? Its a 93 SHO ATX.

typical symptom of a failed starter solenoid.

take a screwdriver or similar metal implement and short it (carefully!) across the 2 large terminals on the solenoid. if the starter motor spins, then you have a bad solenoid, or are not getting the "start" signal passed from the key switch into the solenoid. (both the solenoid and the key switch are possible failure points, but the solenoid is 10x more common).

if the starter motor does not spin with your test, then you have a wiring failure between the battery and the starter, or a bad battery.
