Just bought a 93 with 59k. It overheats after about 15 minutes. No sign of leaks. Coolant clean and full. No milkshake. When it’s hot the upper radiator hose is not hot to the touch. Also the heater blows very hot. I have my guesses. Wanted to hear yours. Back after 20 years. TYIA

Is the tstat opening? is it actually overheating or is a temp sensor failing? Flush coolant system and burp for air pockets?

If the heater is working good and the hoses going to the heater core get nice and hot but the upper radiator hose is not getting hot then the thermostat is not opening or the radiator is plugged.

Pull the thermostat and do a coolant flush.

Agree with above to include possible clogged radiator. Everything is suspect on cars this old even with low miles. Things degrade like fluids, rubber, rust formation, nosy critters, etc

That's not great. Get a 192F thermostat and a new rubber gasket from Rockauto. Also don't overtighten the little thermostat housing studs - 6-8ft/lbs max or a quarter of an uga-duga on a 1/4" ratchet.

Hopefully the parts that left the thermostat aren't in the water pump impeller. That looks like someone's bench handy work.
