I wouldn't think so, but this was something changed since it ran the first time. Were the washers the same thickness as the old ones? It looks like Oreilly has a fuel pressure tester you can rent.

I ended up buying one from Autozone when I needed it to check a FPR that failed at too high a pressure. If I recall, I had to use an adapter in order to get a reading.

Yes...same size washers. What are the fuel pressure settings? Aren't they different when running, key on, key off?

I like this line of thinking. It was running before working on it. Now not. Most logical is to deconstruct what was done and look at human error and/or part failure in the work chain. Other possibilities exist but you can also end up chasing ghosts forever. Eliminate the most likely and easier to access first and go from there.

Did you jumper that wire?

I didn't jump that wire, but I will. I'm gonna check the fuel pressure next.

If you see something obviously broken with an easy fix you have to do it. Bridge it together then put a gauge on fuel. If it gets any worse you can always disengage the wire patch. You can't have an obvious error dangling and keep moving. Just a quick non permanent jumper you can easily undo should be 5-10 minutes

You have a donor car available so luckily you can swap all kinds of stuff when necessary. So pcm swap is doable, sensors, fpr, all that stuff. What's really tough is finding the patience and the time.

Think I found the problem. I get 38 lbs of pressure with key on and pump primed. I start the car and it drops to nothing within 10 seconds. Wtf? All I did was replace a crush washer. So the only thing I did when I took the intake off the first time has been the problem all along? Now what? Is there a specific kind of washer that goes on the fpr? Where do I get one?

That explains why it sounds like it runs out of gas...

Maybe the new washer is too thin and the fitting screws down so far that there is not enough room for an adequate supply of fuel to get into the rail. I would take a careful look at the two washers to see what's different.

Do you still have the old washers, if so put them back on. I had to reuse the old ones since I couldn't find a match. You can always try posting a want to buy or try Shosource or try swapping the one from the other car you bought.

It is the copper one with the four tabs on the inside, I'm not sure if this is for the FPR or the fuel pressure damper

I remember when I put it on, I had to torque it down hard so it wouldn't leak. I wonder if I crushed it too much. That one with the four tabs I still have and didn't put it on. I noticed it after I had it done. I remember when I took it apart I had to pry that washer off because I torqued it down so hard. So on the dampner and the fpr there's 4 washers. 1 goes on the top of the fuel line and one on the bottom and the fpr goes through it. Same with the dampner. 1 on top and 1 on the bottom and the dampner goes through it. Which ones go where? Does it matter?

I was thinking reuse as well. As long as there is enough crush left to get a seal you're good. I don't recommend it for brake banjo bolts but I can admit in a pinch losing daylight I did manage to pull it off. Another less likely idea is Maybe the fpr unit is damaged?

I haven't had to mess with mine so no experience there. However since Josh from SHO NUT Performance developed his aftermarket kit for high hp cars, I bet he spent enough time futzing with them to be able to answer intelligently. You can search for sho nut on the website and shoot him a message. worse case scenario, you also have a donor car available if you want to monkey with it

Banjo bolts like on brake calipers generally come with uniform sized washers. Not sure on regs as I never removed one on these cars

The old one wouldn't seal. That's why I changed it. I remember it had rubber inside it. The one there now doesn't have rubber inside it. It is just copper.

I still have the tester. I'll try these out. Plus I could pull the one of the black 93 ATX I just got too.
