Hello, hope someone can fix this problem (cause its bugging me). I went to get a aftermarket radio deck installed and afterwards the installer told me no sound is coming from the stereo. All wires are connected, has power, and looks like it should be working. Its just not getting any sound. After messing with it awhile and getting kind of upset I just decided to get old one back in and worry about it later. When he was putting old one in, I now have no sound from the old one. Is there any type of fuse or reset options i need to do? I dont understand how switching a stereo would mess the whole thing up. (just fyi not installing all new speakers or system just the actual player.) Anyone who knows how to fix this? Be greatly appreciative :).

If you're using the factory amp, he may have popped the fuse for it or may have screwed up the wiring for its remote turn-on.

So, you need to find out if the head unit is supposed to be driving the speakers directly or if the head unit is supplying the amp which, of course, must be turned on and working.

I agree he could have popped a fuse under the dash or even blowen your amp tru unhooking the wires to the left of the black jbl amp the go into the side I had a problem with the sound going out on mine and its because the aftermarket cd player is a diffrent impedence than the stock cd and amp

I absolutely hated undertaking this project. I rewired my entire car for my aftermarket speakers and deck. I planned on using the stock amp, but broke the harness connector.

You can put the aftermarket stereo in but you will either need to buy a harness to bypass the factory amp or wire the speakers directly to the radio.

I am running my aftermarket deck through the factory amp and speakers, now what I did differently, is I hooked up the factory amp through the RCA connections instead of the speaker connections. That way the impedance is the same from the aftermarket deck to the factory deck.

yeah what i figure is something must have happened to amp when he disconnected the wiring. i figure ill try and get a harness to bypass it first since that will probably be cheaper. what kind of harness would i need to get?

How did you use RCA hook ups on the factory amps? Do they come with that option on them. I am having the same problem except mine does not get loud. Cant hear the radio over the headers and catback.

I had a set of RCA's that I chopped up and used the square connector that comes with the Amp bypass kit, wired those in together, I still use the factory amps and the factory sub still works as well.

Thanks slip ill give that a try. I checked the fuses and they seem fine. As an fyi the deck that was in there before was an aftermarket, not the original that comes with purchase. So either way some wire must have gone bad or something isnt correctly connected/loose. Im going to a car audio shop tomorrow to let them take a look. (Because I am new to audio and really have no basis to what im doing.) Thanks for your help guys.
