I am currently looking at an '89 SHO which the owner states will not start, but does turn over. What are the common problems for the engine to turn over, but not start? Any help would be appreciated. I'm sure the problem is simple, but the guy could care less and just wants to get rid of the car. Thanks, Mike

There are countless items on the SHO (really ANY car) that can cause a no-start condition. There's really no way for us to diagnose the problem with the information you've provided.

It could be as simple as a bad starter solenoid or disconnected/defective sensor to a clogged exhaust or blown engine. The only real way to tell is to conduct a thorough inspection and diagnosis in-person.

That's what I thought, I feel stupid for posting without any specifics. Anyway I will go see the car and then try to figure out why it will not start

Bring a code reader. if it throws a #14 it's a CPS. Could be a starter problem. I would check the codes.

Take off the oil filler cap and look at the cam while someone cranks the motor to make sure it's not the timing belt. If the cam doesn't move, you found the problem.

If the owner "could care less", he probably didn't care to do a 60K.
