Hello,
I've been following this forum for a while but this is my first post. I just purchased my 1989 SHO MTX two weeks ago and its been a great car but now there's a problem. The selector cable is worn out so that the plastic socket keeps popping off of the metal ball on my trans. I've tried getting a replacement cable from Ford but it is discontinued with no stock in Canada or the U.S. Green Sales and RCO have none available either. I've done a search and have noticed mentionings of rod upgrades and cable end changes, but I haven't found anything with a detailed explanation. Is there a source for a replacement cable in the aftermarket? If not what is the quickest permanent fix to get my car back on the road?
Thanks.
