Couldn't one just open the holes a bit? I've seen a few cars running probe wheels, which are 5x114 if im not mistaken... I don't think 2mm is going to make that much of a difference, if done correctly...

This would open the door to a few more wheel designs....

Just a thought. And I do know the outcome of not doing this correctly.

EDIT:
Instead of making another thread...

Anyone know if these Borbets can be had here in the US? :dribble:

yes it can be done, with the right lug nuts. I have cragar ss supersports on my mustang. they fit 4.5-5" patters. The holes are slotted and there is a special lugnut that is used with a washer to hold them on. It might be a pain to do, but it can certainly be done w/o worrying about the wheels falling off:rofl:

EDIT: heres what it looks like you can notice the slot in the wheel, and then that lug just screws on with a special washer that comes with the special lugs. If you can buy them in the same thread pattern as the sho it might be doable.

The correct way is to use a 5x108 wheel.

If you want to use a 5x110 wheel, knock yourself out. But don't be all mad when your studs snap and the next thing you know you're framesliding down the road. :)

Seriously you don't want to do that, I know of people that have and one way or another the end result has not been a positve one. On the one in the picture they are machined like that from the factory and use a flat sided lug nut set-up, taurus' use tapered lugs that are designed to fit into a round tapered hole and not a elongated one.....

In a nutshell I wouldn't even condsider doing it and highly suggest you don't either, because the SHO crowd is already small enough.....

actually I was just thinking if something were to happen and you caused an accident because of that mod to the wheel, you might be 100% liable and insurance might not cover it.

Might is not the word, ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT is a little better. I've seen it many times with many different aspects of car modifications, insurance companies AND lawyers are not stupid.....

You can use a 5x110 wheel since it is only 1mm off on each hole. I'm running unmodified 4x100m wheels on my 4x98mm hub on my European Fiat Coupe. The aftermarket locking Acorn style lugs should line it all back up but make sure you still have a hubcentric ring on there to keep the wheel perfectly centered. Another option would be to have the wheels machined to fit by re-drilling the bolt holes.

BTW, what car wears 5x110's? Isnt that the new Cobalt SS wheel size?

I would not do it. Just get ones that fits. You can always call the maufacture and see if they will make you a set with the proper bolt spacing.

These are the ones Im using on my shogun project.

ASA AR1 16x7 ( FRONT )with REAL SHO 5 x 108 bolt pattern, tires are 205 50 16 , This is the proper set up for a fwd SHO. The Festiva uses SHO spindles front and rear, I would love to see them on a real SHO

I tore a bicep so I have been out ouf work for a month, Im healing up and starting a new job ( better pay and less hours ) in a week.

So the car has been sitting but the project has not. I have all the mechanical done, I was going to run it on the 3.0 but Im now building a 3.2 for it. The finaces are there so it not a big problem. It will be finished before the end of the year.

Reason being... there are some nice wheels out there in the 5x110 pattern.

I do like those ASA's though.
