I have a vid of Pat's car pulling 445hp at the wheels, which is over 500hp at the crank assuming modest drivetrain losses. There've been several 500+hp forced-induction SHOs, and IIRC Josh had a pull over 600hp.

You're nuts, he's definately not making more then 430whp. You can even ask him!

There's a guy in Texas with a supercharged SHO runnin 21 to 23lbs of boost and getting close to 600hp to the wheels. Supercharged is the way to go. This guy in Texas owns a speed shop called North Texas Performance.

I did a little poking around (not much) and found, without much effort, several SHOs making 500+chp.

Here's one, with stock internals other than cams, from quite a while ago:

http://www.shoclub.com/membersonly/joshturbosho.htm

Both of Pat's s/c cars are over 500chp, his track car making quite close to 500whp, which would be ~585chp assuming 17% loss.

Ransom's car with low-comp pistons is well over 500chp. The dyno plot is apparently archived here.

Edit: Found the plot in his post:

Other examples aren't hard to find. Note that Josh's dyno run is almost four years old (Ransom's is almost five years ago), and these guys haven't been sitting on their hands. The vid I have of Pat's white car is from no later than 12/03.

Congrats on the good success with the turbo, I think it's fantastic. Clearly there's opportunity for more, though. ;)

Nope, Pat has been running a completely stock long block (from the throttle body to the exhaust manifolds) on his white '91 making 445whp. The only time he has had any problems is when his water injection quit working. By personally seeing how well his car has responded to WI, I went the same route.

His '89 SHO (race car) is the one with the forged 3.2 pistons running 17lbs of boost with no charge cooling at the moment. This setup has yeilded 520whp and now he is adding a 2-stage water injection kit and most likely, more boost.

I think this is the funniest thing in the world...Tony should have a patent on 430...it's like his magic number. I personally think it's a lot more like 330 hp...he just wishes he could dyno over 400.

Are you surrendering already? The turbo beast will not succumb to a blower! :p That will be a hella good matchup..

It's okay, Tony likes to have his SC'd ego stroked (along with other things!)
