Used-To-Know-It-All
Okay, so I may have made a boo-boo here...
This is on a '90, into which I've dropped a 3.2L from a '95 ATX and I'm getting it ready for the Convention.
I just bolted the MTX y-pipe that I removed from the original 3.0L (looks like the SHOShop part with the smooth bend in front of the rear cat), and I realized that the O2 sensor connectors are part of the engine harness (I left the 3.2L engine harness on it), and they don't physically match the connectors on the MTX O2 sensors I have...
So my questions are:
1. Will it work to just go get O2 sensors from an ATX that will hook up to this harness? I will be using an MTX ECU w/o EGR (X9J).
2. Do you guys know of anything else (important) that won't match up connector-wise that will make me wish I'd swapped the engine harnesses? I don't care about unimportant things like the low oil sensor.
I am aware that it's common to swap the 3.0 engine harness over to the 3.2 during this swap, but my 3.2 harness is in better shape than my 3.0 harness, so I (perhaps foolishly) left the 3.2L harness on, forgetting that there would be any problems there. Also, I've already bolted down the intake and installed
all of the goodies up top, so I'd really like to not have to undo and redo that if I don't have to.
Notice of any other gotchas that I may be obvious forgetting about are appreciated!
