Hey all

In my 3.0 to 3.2 conversion, do you have to change oil pumps?

Do the holes that you have to tap in the block only for the lift bracket?

The 3.2 is just about ready to go in... getting excited!

Thanks thumbs_u

Oh, Also is the throttle bodies the same for the 2 engines? The one off of the 3.0 has the number KOA-03 on it and the one off of the 3.2 has the number KOB-01 on the top. Physically they look the same, but these numbers are different. I would like to use the one of of the 3.2 intake as it looks a bit cleaner.

Also I hear the the redline synthetic tranny fluid is the best. I guess that I should use the ATF type? Where is the filler plug for the tranny?

Thanks, you guys are the best!

You can use a 3.2L pump but there will be a open spot between the 3.0L timing covers and the pump housing. If you want it to fit correctly use a 3.0L pump. Beware that gasket is obsolete, so you'll have to cut your own.

You'll have to tap 1 (or 2) holes for the coil pack bracket. I found 3 to be overkill, so the factory one plus one I added holds fine. They are large 14mm bolts and hold the small bracket and pack fine. And yes you'll have 1 hole to drill and tap for the lift bracket, the way the head is cast the 3.0L bracket won't really allow for 2 bolts.

Use your 3.0L throttle body. ATF really isn't that crucial as long as it's fresh. If you have a stock diff or run a lot of open track events, synth is a good idea. Fill plug is on the front side (with it mounted in the car) facing the p/s cooler.
