Hello ya'll I'm having issues with my 3.0 tensioner spring finding a home on the 3.2. I have the stud, tensioner and the spring from a 3.0, I was just wondering where the straight end of the spring sits on a 3.2 setup (I have a 3.2 oil pump)? It looks like the 3.0 pump had a flat spot for it, it just doesn't look very reliable as it sits with the 3.2 pump. Any ideas? I would like to use the 3.2 pump. Here is a pic of what I am talking about. Thanks guys! Shes almost done!

except that the 3.2 tensioner didn't have the dowel or the spring because it is automatically adjusted.

all the spring is for is to help you get the right amount of tension on the timing belt - once you have the proper tension on the 3.0 you tighten down the nut and lock the idler into place. so, your mission is to rotate the tensioner manually to the proper belt tension and then lock it in place. then, mission accomplished.

Is there a hole for a dowel pin? if so can I use a bolt or something for it?

There is a hole. I assume you only have one engine? The dowel pins for the brackets for the motor mounts on each side of the engine are the same.

Use the right pin not a bolt or screw.. you will be sorry later once it walks out.. the pin that belongs in there needs to be hammered in..

I would have to double check but judging from the first pic its at the top.. the hole the pin goes in has no threads so it should be fairly easy to find
