Hey just a quick question. I have searched this in a few attempts. It seems like it has been hinted that it would work, but not found it to be directly answered.

I want to put in a 3.0 oil pan, to take care of a couple of small issues, bolt holes on the trans/oil pan, oil level sender unit, and the y-pipe hanger.

I wanted to make certain before I go looking/buying for this, that the 3.2 pump and the 3.0 pan would line up fine with each other. I have seen where there ends up being a small opening in the lower timing cover using the 3.2 pump w/3.0 accessories. Really haven't found anything else.

Speaking of that, would a 3.2 lower timing cover work better?

3.0 oil pan works just fine.
You need to use 3.0 timing cover's.
There will be a small space between the oil pump and the timing cover.
The physical difference between the 3.0 and 3.2 pump is the "ear" that extends upwards to meet the timing cover. The 3.2 pump does not have this extended "ear". You can fabricate a small piece of aluminum to keep the area covered so no debri can get into the timing belt and crank sensor.
