Has anyone repaired their FCIM? My climate on/off button does not respond as well as a couple other buttons sometimes working. The car will also randomly turn the climate on and off while driving and I can hear the audible sound for the “click” happening. I can utilize the touch screen fine. Seems maybe need replacing the FCIM but don’t want to fork over the cash for one right now.
Thanks!

The FCIM in my 2013 Lincoln MKS failed for the driver's temperature '+'. As an electrical engineer by degree and an electronics repair hobbyist I figured I'd just replace the capacitive touch controller IC on the flex board. Well, much easier planned than accomplished. I could not locate a source of the IC anywhere. I'm guessing maybe it's proprietary to Ford. I looked at datasheets for similar components but nothing I could find appeared to match the pinout. Instead I opted to buy a used FCIM off of eBay. I don't recall the specifics, but there were few listed as compatible with the 2013 model year so I bought one for a 2015 or 2016 and figured if it didn't work I'd salvage the needed parts from it to fix mine. Luckily though the "incompatible" FCIM plugged in, fit, and worked perfectly fine. I think I used to get a beep when buttons were pressed with the original and the replacement does not provide any audible indication of a button being pressed and I didn't find an option in the settings for that, so maybe that's the difference?

Anyway, fixing it is probably possible if you can find the IC parts, but if your FCIM uses the same IC as my Lincoln, that's not an easy task. I don't appear to have saved the part number for the IC from my FCIM to see if it's the same part number yours uses. Are you comfortable disassembling your FCIM to see what the IC part number is?

Check Car-part.com. Look around and you can usually find one cheap enough not to put the time in repairing yours.
