I just put some 19" Axis Hiros on my 1989 SHO. Wheels are 19x8.5, 5x108 with a 35mm offset. I'm running 245/35r19 Nittos. I just had some other work done to the car, including a centerforce clutch and the aluminum subframe bushings.

The fronts fit no problem, I had to cut the lip away on the rear a bit to get the tires to fit. No rubbing on the struts front or rear. The car still rides pretty smoothly, and now has crisp cornering response. Next is a set of Eibachs, as the gap in the front is a little much.

I even went and had her detailed, and she looks like a new car:

Damn that looks HOT! BTW you do realize that white 89's are the rarest color SHO's right? Take care of that one ;) BTW I hear Intrax are lower than eibachs and they're cheaper. Just a thought. I love my eibachs but they're just not low enough.

Wow, 19's? That looks good man. With some new springs that is just gonna look tight as all **** :thumb:
The looks are enough for me, but aren't they heavy?

The wheels weigh 26 pounds. I race with NASA and my co-driver works at Eibach, so I am getting them for a really good deal ;-)

I may only run Eibachs in the front, to give the car some rake. I still want a comfortable ride, as I use this car as my daily driver and usually drive from LA to San Fran once a month.

As for the brakes, I want to put some larger stock SHO calipers and rotors (from a 94?) on it, unless something else fits and isn't too expensive. What are those beautiful red calipers under your wheels Chris?

Thanks for the input guys!

Hmmm... What about the Mocha/Mocha '91 Plus? Or the Silver Frost in '94 or '95?

Damn you're the one who out bid me on those rims. $1000 was a good deal on those. Trying to find another set for my 93'. My new 18's won't clear my new 13" brakes.
Congrads on the purchase.

These sell for $335 each, but I could get them down to $1200 for the set for anyone here. They have *TONS* of caliper clearance, I have a buddy with some sick brembos on a Ford Ranger (of all things) that may let me have them when he parts out his truck. Even his Brembos will fit!

Nope, white 89's were the rarest.

You could try Moog Cargo Coils on the rear and Eibachs or Intrax on the front. You'd definitely have some rake then, plus extra support for anything you want to carry in the trunk.

The wheels look great!
