Glad I'm not the only one who's changed a starter only to find a bad battery terminal after the fact. After a few bad rebuilds, your mind just takes you in that direction.

I had this same problem and I had to replace my fuel pump and filter. Old gas can ruin the pump if it sits for a long time.

I just bought a 91 that's been sitting for a long time as well any tips on getting old gas out or just siphon?

Plan on dropping the tank? I'd think you at the very least siphon out the old gas, put in HEET or similar "water suspending" additive, then fill up with fresh fuel. Replace the fuel filter also. Then attempt to start the engine. Fuel injectors may be gummed up ...

I'm going to try at all costs not to drop the tank but if I change the filter I'll have to right?

I would drop the tank and drain it, then replace the fuel pump which is likely gummed up. The pump should have a sock filter on it. There is also a filter along the side and underneath the car, in-line with the fuel line that should be changed.

Good luck. On the extended tanks, at least, there is a defeat feature for siphons. I wasn't able to snake a silicone hose around it, and had to drive my fuel out.
