Agreed!!!!

My car is running ALOT harder now that the weather finally dropped.

get that intake taken care of, and you should be 14.2-14.3.

Add a 50shot, and your in the mid 13's... :naughty:

What wheel/tire combo are you running?

A Smaller wheel with just as sticky tires thave have a larger sidewall would do wonders.

you can still run 16's...
or even 17's....

with some being as light as 15lbs...

I guess the real question is, how much do those TD's weigh?

I dont think a stock MTX SHO should run mid 14's.That if it is a freak maybe and on top of that has maintence up to-date. I think high 14 to low 15s is more accurate.

But i do agree maybe 14.2 is acheivable but no much more. The 14.34 run was petty much a perfect run.
But when i get the BBB and EH runners i am hoping for 14.1 and maybe ever a super high 13 second run:evilgrin: .
I can't wait
na Kelvins right, good tires, good driver, good SHO can crack mid 14's stock
his has done it and my 91 can too,im just a ****** driver:thumb:

Back in Michigan ... again.
Another thing to remember when dealing with 1/4 times... you'll get an exponential increase in hp required to run faster. In other words, an extra 30 horsepower may take you from 15 flat to 14.5, but you'll need 60 horsepower (over and above that original 30) to go from 14.5 to 14 flat, 120 more horsepower (one again over and above the original 30 PLUS the 60) to get to 13.5, etc.

Note: These numbers are as statistically valid as the hair on my behind. In other words, I just pulled these numbers to use as examples; they do not represent anything official. But the concept is pretty accurate.

And the only stock SHO's hitting mid 14's are the occasional factory freak. A well-driven (or perhaps I should say fearlessly-driven since aggressive launching and powershifting net the best results), well-maintained stock MTX should run in the neighborhood of 14.9-15.1

Exactly what i said just more explained:thumb: well the last part atleast
I think with some stickier tires and EH runners and BBB this car will be hitting between 13.9-14.1 and hopefully in the 100mph

The 17x8 TD's I have are over 20lbs, and I am sure the 18's are more. Hed has 13in brakes. He has VERY few mods: a y-pipe and MAF are really the only ones (and that MAF could just as well be causing a HP loss).

In other words, GREAT times and great driving. I think the time difference between his and his father's times are highly indicative of why so many SHO's run slower than they are capable of. Experience is worth its wieght in gold.

I wouldn't say very few mods my bank account says otherwise but if you mean in engine mods vs all together mods cost ie brakes wheels tires suspension maybe you could basicly call it a bolt-on 3.2

damn list never stops growing:nut:

Certainly, I did not mean to suggest that it was mostly stock, only that the only mods done to the engine (that would effect the 1/4) are the y-pipe and maf. ANd for those few things, that is one great car. Really, the wheels/brakes would make it a bit slower, so that is a good strong car.

Absolutely! The first SHO I owned was a 95 MTX, and it went from a 16.5 to a 15.2 just from the "driver mod." :thumb:
