I've heard that each pound of wheel weight is like adding ??? pounds of dead weight to your car. What is the actual number? I ask this because I bought a set of 17" wheels for my SHO. They look real nice on it, but are noticeably heavier than the original slicers. If each wheel and tire combo weighs 5 lbs. more than the slicer combo for a total of 20 more pounds of wheel weight, how much extra dead weight am I dragging around???

Its around 7lbs per 1lb, so you would be carring around 35lbs per wheel. It depends though on were the weight is though, but 7 is the average. I have 17s but they only weigh 15.5lbs each.

They are ATS Comp Light Rims. I got them From American Tires or Discount Tires, same place. They cost $130 each. it was the best deal I could find. It seems though you can get them in flat black but I think they do have one silver set left. I had my powdercoated becasue they only had silver at the time.

One more questions... what is the offset? +40mm? Seems like it was something like that.

They have the right offset. They are 17x7.5 which is what I wanted. The offset is 40mm+. They were everything I wanted. :dribble:

I went from 16" slicers to 16" Borbets that weight in at 15 pounds and are 7 1/2 wide and a feel a very noticeable difference.
