Well, finally took my SHO to the strip last night. And well, it sucked.
I have a 3Bar, TS, plugs, and 3 tunes (including drag) from Unleashed.
Now I know I'm at 4500 feet. I know I'm on Michelin MXV4 touring tires. I know I need practice launching, but come on. I ran 5 passes.
Best 60' 2.2. Yeah. Punk ass 2.2.
Best 1/4 14.3 @104.

Soo...
Is this just what my car runs? Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to hit up Tory for more aggressive tunes?

Launching at 1.5K (the best I can) the tires chirp. As soon as they hook up, WOT for days. TC off, running in Drive.

What do you guys think? Is there an unseen variable here? Is it time for tires? Do I just suck at racing?

All in all, I stomped out my 2 best friends in their Challenger R/T and Charger R/T. At the end of the day, that's what matters, right? :)

Thanks for any input.
Quinn

Elevation is the problem...have you datalogged for him? His first set of tunes have been known to be on the docile side a bit.

No, I haven't. Didn't even know it was an option, haha. Would it help much?

Revisions definitely due. Corrected 1/4 mile time should be closer to 13 if not a bit less. Trap time looks pretty good.

I picked up 4 tenths with revisions and downpipes and that was only 3 revisions. Each one was a little quicker than the last. LMS is great that you don't have to do revisions but in order to get faster you have to buy the parts and can't just go along and along. Torrie on the otherhand starts more conservative and works up but will allow tune revisions with anyone else's products (although I try and always buy form him cause I appreciate the amazing service). But both are fantastic

Definitely do logging with Torrie for the best results. Email him for configuration file of parameters to log, having a good laptop will give him better logs to look at too...compared to the handheld tuning devices limits.

Torrie just got back to me. He said the tune looks good, but my boost is wayyy off. He thinks I have a boost leak.
Also, I'm getting a bad knock that he thinks is either the sensor wire or horrible gasoline. I only put the best gas I can get in, so I don't think it's that.

There's always a chance a station gets a bad fill of gas that gets passed onto the consumer. Average drivers won't really notice it unless you're beating on your car. So get a fresh tank in before going WOT and check for a loose sensor wire. I think there's a common wire we should all check for but I can't recall it.

There will be another drag event on the 8th, if I can figure out the boost problem I'll go run again and see how it goes. :)

Knock sensor wires have been known to chafe take a look there. I taped mine and moved them over a little.

I've insulated them and reset the KAM, so hopefully it'll help. I still don't want to run unless I figure out the boost dilemma.

I have completely stock intake and exhaust. I've never paid any attention before, but I can hear the turbos whistle while under moderate to WOT. Could I be hearing the leak, or is it normal to hear them spooling?

I have stock exhaust and intake also and you would never know it was a twin turbo by listening to it. Can't hear ANY sign of turbo spooling. I have heard some some SHOs with exhaust mods and the spooling is extremely obvious so I know what it sounds like.

Are you sure the intake and exhaust are OEM? Those two when modded (together or separately) can increase the turbo whistle sound. Do you have the windows rolled down and/or the appearance cover off?

A video would be helpful in determining if the sound level is not "normal".

100% stock. Other than VTA BOV, but that shouldn't make noise unless the BOV is bad. I leave the cover off.
My cellphone is all I have to record with, and I doubt I'll be able to capture the whistle with how faint it is. I'll try, if it's audible I'll post it.

The VTA mod is supposed to make noise, undo it and see if that takes care of the sound you are hearing.

I have stock intake, stock exhaust, BOV to atmosphere, Unleashed tune, and when I drive with the windows down I can hear the turbos spool under the right conditions. If I accelerate too hard, I don't hear them over the engine noise. If I'm going too fast I don't hear them over the wind noise. If the windows are up I don't hear them. But when I give it gas lower in the RPMs to make moderate acceleration I can hear mine spool.

There is a barb fitting on a small hose that controls the BOV. It's located towards the front of the engine, just to the left of the pipe going to the CAC (little hose goes from the pipe to the BOV controller). There's no hose clamp and sometimes it can work free and leak. I would start by checking that line as I've seen others with a leak from there. If you cannot find it I'll take a picture and post it.

SHOs have that noise maker that my MKS does not. Maybe that is why mine has no turbo sound. I don't have my BOVs vented to atmosphere either.

Check all your turbo pipes makes sure there are no cracks. Look where the pipe goes into the throttle body and check around the bottom. Apparently those pipes crack from time to time

Look for oily/gunk type build up...most common places are where the pipes connect to turbo and just saw a guy with a leak at the pipe going to throttle body from CAC (leaking at the seams). The residue will be your key sign.
