Could only get 4 sets out of the plate of super-flat phenolic I bought. They took way longer to machine than the aluminum and it ate up more end mills than the aluminum. The dust created by the milling operation was so fine that if not not kept away from the 10,000 rpm bit, would catch fire; had to keep an air nozzle on the bit at all times.

Three of the sets have been spoken for by somedude01, MRECoolgar and RedHeadedlefty, So I have only a few more sets for sale.

The cost is 190.00 Shipped to your door.

I also have a few of 1/8" sets left for 90.00 shipped.

My PayPal is [email protected] Don't forget to put the Ship-To address in your payment details. Ten dollars from each sale will go to Bizzy.

I have a pic of them I will try and post.

I was also told it may help keep the intake cooler by pulling it up off the heads preventing heat soak. But I could be wrong.

That is a side benefit when you use Phenolics, they don't transfer heat from the heads to the intake near as much as aluminum does. Phenolics are also much harder to machine than aluminum.

I am interested in a set of spacers as well. If you fabricate additional intake spacers you will sell them.

What type of endmills were you using? It sounds like some weren't up to the task at hand.

<<<<Sells cnc cutting tooling, abrasives, and lubricants.

I have a few more sets if anybody is interested.

I also have them in the 1/8" thickness for those that are just wanting the heat isolation and NOT rotating the intake for rear wheel drive. The 1/8" spacers are also made from the same "super flat" phenolic.

To the top for the last few remaining sets of 1/2" Phenolic intake spacers. Also have sets of the 1/8" spacers made out of the same super-flat phenolic, just in case you just want the insulating properties but aren't going to be rotating your intake. These are only 90.00 per set shipped to your door.

Brian,

I answered by PM but I'll share my opinion here too. I myself would prefer to use RTV to anchor the spacer to the head. Do this by first cleaning head AND the spacer with alcohol or lacquer thinner. Put a thin coat of RTV (I like Ultra Black or The Right Stuff) on the head surface, lay the spacers on the heads and then temporarily put the intake on so that you can temporarily tighten down and squish the RTV super flat, let set overnight. Remove the intake (always check for dingle berries, remove as needed) and then place the stock gaskets on top of the spacers and re-assemble with the correct torque. You have 1/8" less threads now so if you don't have an accurate torque wrench, tighten by nut driver if you have Popeye forearms.

I have a few more sets of both sizes left, so if anybody is even thinking of insulating and or flipping their intake, act soon while this limited time offer is still available. Not sold in stores.

BTW, just as a reminder; I give 10.00 from each set sold to SHOFORUM to help with her expenses in running this fine site.
