It has been repaired, so to speak. The spark plug hole was drilled out and there is an oversized thread there now.

The new to me heads are much cleaner, but I'm going to try to get them spiffed up before install.
The deck is a bit suspect, but hopefully not going to be a problem.
You want to remove any sharp edges to prevent premature detonation. The grooves will not be a problem but you want to at least file down anything that you can feel with your fingers.

I have a left (front) head with 80 K miles on it that I don't really have a use for, think it ran me a couple hundred years ago. Would surely need valve stem seals at this age. Its from an MTX car. Pretty sure it has cams tensioner etc. In the northeast though.
