When moving things around it is possible another spot that had melted insulation is now touching somewhere and is grounded. Time to sheathe the entire harness, I would guess. If that does not do it, then something either is crossed in your reconnects or two are melted together and touching.

well i been up lookin thru the ford tech cd/manual and looking at the wiring schematic and from what i fixed there is no way i hooked up a ground wire to my wires so only thing i can figure is i cause a short somewhere i got an idea were to somewhat start to work.. its somewhere between the ccrm to the pcm or fuel injectors or puge valve for the evap is part of this..

so i think once i figure out this most of my intermittent codes will be gone thanks for any help givin

good thing i was only 2 questions form getting my auto certification in electrical when i was in auto school. just never went back for it.

what caused the wires to melt? engine heat or the wire itself get hot.

i wanna say heat.. because the casing of the wires were only melted to them self. didnt see any open wires besides the one that went to the evap purg valve and it was cut in half and twisted and tapped up??? wasnt me.....

anyways i went to my wiring some and found that when i unhooked the fuel injectors RED wiring and away went the short.. to bad the car wont run without it...
