Is anyone here a PPG paint dealer?

As the question asks, is anyone a PPG paint dealer, or can source PPG paints? I need both some advice regarding a particular clear coat, and to buy enough to paint a Gen 2 SHO, jambs, cladding, engine bay, and all.

Thanks to all who respond. :thumb:

Call these guys...they supply all the metro Detroit Dealers with OEM repaint.

Before that though...some questions...

I assume you are going base/clear. What will the tempurature be when you shoot it?
Will you have the ability to use accellerated curing(infra red lights)?

Be prepared to answer those questions...among others...when you call.

paint booth, hplv gun, pressure *** gun, air pressure, spary pattern, coats, 2 stage, 3 stage, base color or sealer color close? there is so many things that can affect the amount of paint. i would write down what you know you need then add for the jambs and everything. i would go to a shop and just get a estimate done. see how much they think. i just painted a front bumper cover today. spraying sliver with some flake in it took 3 coats to cover the black sealer that the bumper came with. then two coats of clear over that

2 stage (base color, clear), heated "paint tent" (good thing I'm not going for show quality :) ), hplv gun.

Shop estimates are upwards of $2000.

The paint will be PPG DBU 9700 black
The clear is PPG DCU2060 (flex and flat)
Questions I have are about the proportioning of DCX61 to clear, and DRR1170 to the base coat (black), based on temp, etc.

IMHO, base clear is good, but i would rather use acrylic enamel
base clear has better looks, but it won't last as long as the acrylic enamel

when i painted my 93 sho, I used dcc 9300
$205 1 gal of 9300 i did everything, jambs, engine bay, interior, trunk, everywhere and i had enough
$50 1 qt sealer
$50 k36 prima
$50 dt 870 reducer
$50 dcx 61 hardener
$ 50 odds and ends, tape paper sandpaper, razor blades
$450 grand total, give or take $25

heres the end result, I miss this car

6 parts DCU2060 to 1 parts of DCX61
1 part color to 1 1/2 parts DRR1170, that way you get a lot of paint out of a little color
