If anybody is even thinking about mating a SHO motor to a T-5, I have the pilot bushing you will need.

They are made from oil-lite bronze. Oil-lite is a porous sintered bronze bearing that is vacuum-impregnated with 18-20% SAE-30 oil. Heat created by the wheel's rotation draws the oil to the bearings surface. The oil acts as a cushion between the bearing and the axle, reducing wear and increasing resistance to shock loads.
These bushings require less maintenance and lubrication than the plain brass units and will give much longer life.

I still pack the back side cavity with a good quality grease for good measure. They are 1/2" long and fit the SHO crank and the T-5 shaft perfectly.

The cost is 30.00 shipped to anywhere in the continental US. I only have 10 available so get them while they last.

I can also do a needle bearing for the real high HP guys, but that costs 38.00 shipped and I only have 5 of those left.

My paypal is [email protected]

Thanks

Tom

Bring it to the convention. We can use it as a late night parking lot conversation piece.:nut:

Change in plans. We're not going to the convention. I destroyed The Other Womans motor.

dude, how did you blow up the other woman's motor? too many psi?

Too little oil, actually no oil. I accidently reversed the oil line to my remote oil filter setup. What's amazing and a true testament to the SHO engine's durability is that it didn't start knocking until the third run on the dyno. And still put out 300 HP to the ground! Woohoo!

Wow. Three runs at 300hp with no oil... I can't think of many other engines that can do that!

Nick,

My bad. I sent the bearing to you but responded to the wrong poster. It went in the mail today.

I'll need one. How many do you have left? Not sure which one I'll need though. I will be above 500hp soo will that require the better more expensive one?

I use the needle bearing type now in the Other Woman, but have used the oilite bronze for years and years. It sounds like you're building a monster SHO so I would go with the bearing. Keep in mind though, that the tranny's main input shaft is rotating relative to the flywheel only when you have the clutch depressed.
