Ok I know I asked this before but it was also a really long time ago and a lot of new people have joined since then. I am looking to remove my passenger air bag because I feel they do more damage in a wreck and that place is perfect for the TV :D My question is if I do this and then reconnect the battery will it possibly deploy the driver bag? Or might I start getting an air bag code? I am more worried about deployment since I could always remove the bulb. Was wondering if anyone who has put on an after market steering wheel has run into any of these problems. Thanks again.

I haven't done it personally, but I'd be very cautious. Simply unplugging or removing the passenger airbag shouldn't cause the driver's airbag to deploy when you reconnect the battery. Airbags require a specific deployment signal from the control module, they don't just go off because another component is disconnected. That said, I'd fully expect the airbag light to come on and a fault code to be stored once the system sees the passenger bag circuit is open. If you're planning an aftermarket steering wheel and removing the driver's bag too, you'll likely end up with a permanent SRS warning unless you address it properly. One thing I'd strongly recommend is disconnecting the battery and letting the system sit for a while before touching any airbag connectors. The SRS system has backup power and it's not something I'd want to gamble with. Anyone who's actually removed the passenger bag on a Gen 1/2 SHO, feel free to correct me, but I don't think accidental driver-side deployment from simply unplugging the passenger bag is a realistic concern.
