Man, honestly I’m torn. I think I’m going to enjoy the ‘93 while I have it and sell it to fund M’s repairs. Nothing to it but the work to do the pump and chains but I really don’t want to be that far down and slap it back together with 120K on the turbos. So with that, the question arises, which turbos? And the answer to that could really open a can of worms.

It’s warming up so I’ll finally get to take the ‘93 out. By the time I got it running well last year it got snowy and never relented. Who knows, maybe I’ll really enjoy it and not want to let it go. It is fun to bang gears around when you haven’t got to do it in a really long time.

I would run the GH turbos and honestly be done with it. 450 awhp and 600 awtq would be amazing in that car. It would run an 11.XX at full weight and not skimp on any comfort.

Took me 96k to appreciate that.

Did some work on Betty this weekend. I had to pressure wash the camper and truck because it was covered in bugs. Yaya, spring. After seeing a bunch of advertisements for Bling Chemicals, I decided to see if they were full of crap.

This is what I purchased.

Here is a picture of one of the duals. Now remember these wheel are 26 years old and raw aluminum Alcoa's. Pretty sure have never been polished ect. I have washed them with car wash and a pressure washer, but they have never really been "shiny" shiny.

All I did was pressure wash the wheel, spray the product on, wait 20 seconds, and spray the product off. I did all of the wheels twice that same way.

Holy crap. An actual product that works like they said.

Well my old friend, "Scope Creep" showed up and a party started.

I broke out the detail equipment and went to town metal polishing. If I could polish it, it got acid cleaned, and polished, except for the front bumper.

These rims are not perfect. One is actually bent, but it is still very capable. There are scratches, digs, gouges, and curb rash. I will not fix this. They are a testament to my Uncle's ownership and the work that this truck has put in. I am only going to church them up to say.

This included the side Diamond plate. Before Oxidized.

Half cleaned and polished.

Well my impact died during this, so I pivoted while it charged. That lead me to restoring the badges, trim, and running boards with Cerakote.

So about 4 hours later, she is looking pretty good.

So Betty when I got her.....

Betty now......about 50 percent done with her exterior work.

So I need to make an exterior/interior list for Betty. So here goes.

Interior:
Pull interior including main carpet.
Clean, degrease bare floor.
Inspect floor for damage, ect.
Sound deaden floor, and try to get as high as I can up the firewall.
Add some heat/thermal protection to the passenger side footwell.
Steam Clean and extract carpet.
Re-install Carpet.
Clean and Treat all of the seats.
Re-install Seats ect.
Tint front windows to match the rear.

Exterior:
Pull driver side inner fender well cover and sound deaden it.
Clean Mirror Caps and Trim - Cerakote
Clean Grill - Cerakote
Clean front trim near windshield and Cerakote
Paint the hinges on the bed.
Pressure wash the truck.
Strip wash the truck, de- iron, and clay mit/bar the truck.
Cut, Buff, and Ceramic Coat the paint (big job).

I am sure this list or morph over the next couple of months, but there is a lot of things left to do and it is already getting warm.

Our fire walls are so holey, it's damn near I'm possible to sound proof it. But your determination is unwavering

Yeah, I did figure that. The doors, passenger inner fender liner, and hood have made a big difference just in engine compartment sound. The 7.3 makes such a nice tone with bigger injectors and upgraded turbo. I won't lie thought, the pitch of the KC Turbo sounds amazing, but after 6 hours of it...it becomes cumbersome. If I can get the floor covered, and up the firewall it will make a difference in the road noise department.

Also getting a thermal barrier between the floor and carpet on the passenger side foot well is paramount. On the big sustained hills, the combo of the transmission, up-pipes, and downpipe really heats up that area. Looking to keep that area cooler.

Not looking for new truck in cable sound abatement, just trying to get the tone down and a little bit less harsh. I have quite a few big trips planned over the next year, and one of them is pulling my E63 on a trailer to Toronto from here in AZ. So the more I can deaden sound, the better off I will be on the long road trips.

“pulling my E63 on a trailer to Toronto from here in AZ.”

That’s going to need some elaboration.

I am planning on putting a bigger in tank fuel pump in the E63 later this year. This will allow me to run an E50 blend vs an E30 blend. That set up will run me about 2k installed. Then the only thing left is turbos, which may happen.....depends on what happens with by my GF's CLS 63. I think I have her convinced to sell it, and buy a 20/21 S63 sedan. If that happens, then turbos can enter the chat.

Regardless of turbos or not, I am about 90% positive that I am going to take my E63 to ECC tuning in Toronto, CN. They are the one of the leaders in the E63s, GT 63s, ect in tuning. I really want their custom map switching, rolling anti lag, ect.

I would road trip the car up there, but that would present a problem with fuel. I want 4 different tunes. I want a turned down 91 tune (for road trips), a turned up 91 tune (if E85 ect isnt availabe), I want a turned down E50 tune (for "daily" use) and a on **** E50 tune (for FAFO moments).

If I drive it there, I have to carry all that extra fuel (AZ 91 and Torco T85) later to mix in the trunk. I want the fuel the car will be running on to be tuned on. So pulling the car on the trailer, keeps roughly 4.5k miles off the car, allows me to carry all the fuel I will need (not in a cabin for 32 hours +), and if something happens I still have a way to get the car home.

Since you are literally on the way there and back, you will 100% get to experience the retardation that is a modified m177 LS2 powered AMG E63s. Plus it will be nice to see you and "M" again.

Now that’s what I’m talking about!
I am waiting for a the comment, "How does buying a S63 AMG have to do with buying turbos for your E63s?"
