You can get a NavTool for $400 which hijacks your OEM stereo and adds Android / Apple Auto. I did it a few months ago on my old Sync 1 stereo.

Note - I do have issues with voice commands but it's not the issue of the NavTool. Apple voice commands work fine and I have been able to get Android voice commands to work by downgrading to an older Android Auto app on my phone. The problem is that Android forces me to update to the newest version the next time I use it. It's a pretty well known issue with Android specifically. It could be related to my phone as well. I haven't tested it with another Android phone.View attachment 96450View attachment 96451

That's pretty sweet actually. But i dont know if this solves the reciever being dead, from what I can tell any and all sound passes through the reciever and I have no audio output. Amp is working because I get button feedback beeps and some of the sync voice stuff.

Yea, this mod plays through the radio. I.e. if I'm streaming music or navigating, I have to go to the media settings on the radio and change it to BT, then launch Android Auto, else it'll all be mute.

Entertainment section of screen was not allowing fm/am tuning, Bluetooth would connect but no sound. Cd would play no sound. Voice commands would acknowledge but no voice feedback. According the the thread I read its the acm receiver or the cd player section that's having issues
Gotcha, yeah my first one everything was fine except the climate had a mind of its own. Turn itself on and off, no feedback from the panel on the button presses.

Mine has similar issues from time to time but AM/FM always works. Sometimes It'll connect and all BT related audio is mute. I've tried every fix for it and the only thing that works is to reboot it (not pressing the power button, selecting reboot in the settings). After that it'll work fine for a week or so.

Well im leaning toward the Chinese band-aid, if it is terrible I'll send it back has a 30 day no questions return policy. Hoping it has the app to connect to obd 2 so I can live stream some extra gauges and maybe the tpms. That'd be a fair trade for losing the entire right side of the cluster lol

Picked up 2 sets of turbos, manifolds, a trans and ptu last weekend. The turbos are good enough to rebuild, trans and ptu have less miles than mine and the car drove before everything was pulled... Rock auto has new cards to rebuild the turbos and all the lines so I think that'll be the most cost effective solution for now and deal with the trans and ptu when I figure out other parts.

PSA, more than just matching equipment ACMs will work with our cars. I was at a scrap yard and a 2015 fusion with sync 1 (small screen) was out there, gutted down to the ACM, so I grabbed it, paid $2 for it and my radio works again. Figured for the price couldn't go wrong. One last effort before spending money on an acm repair or full swap. Go figure. Now im cleaning my plastics and repairing my bezel.

$2 for that is a pretty solid win considering the level of BS you've been dealing with.
A win for sure, grateful i have that salvage yard hook up. But Its kinda feels like losing your wallet and revisiting everywhere you went looking for it just to realize you put it a different pocket. The answer was quick and easy but never thought to look. Now I can put my interior back together and get back to working on the other issues lol.

I was going to do a write up on this but it was a relatively easy swap. Added a 2015+ Mustang gear shifter.

I had to dig into my dash to replace the apim and acm so I refreshed some of the plastics but couldn't find a shift **** in any better condition than mine so I got creative. Had to add a shred of fabric to take up the hole a bit, drill 1 new hole, and bend the tabs a little more to get it to click into the shift boot. I love it, also added a little "alcantara" to the worn part of the center that the lid was hitting. And i broke the bezel around the screen so I glued it and wrapped it and it came out horrible but better than the jagged cracks where the glue is. Only lost 3 interior screws!20260124 111431

I had some work done on my 2015 recently and they didn't run the wiring harnesses properly and I ended up taking it to a different shop and they took care of it. The 2nd gear solenoid was stuck because of it. Paid 600$ to fix. But at least it was an easy fix. Just something to be aware of with the wiring harnesses.......It always SHO time!!!!!!!

Always how it goes. Real pain in the D yanking that thing out ain’t it?
Not too bad actually. I read your post and prepped for the worst between your 6+ hours and search results showing 7+ hours.

I was in and out in less than 4 hours total time including the cooling system burping procedure. I made sure I had plenty of zip ties to replace the old and brittle tie backs that kept breaking; pulled as much coolant out as I could with a transfer pump; and watched this video YouTube.

My ease was 1) being a short dude with tiny hands (hence the username) and 2) after unbolting the alternator, rotating it to where the pulley goes from facing the wheel well to the back of car, while keeping the back/plug ports on top and facing rhe radiator. I had to add a little more pressure than I was comfortable with to the AC lines but nothing bad happened.

Putting it back in was so easy I literally LOL and cheered like an idiot as it slid in 30 seconds after unboxing it. Total cost was just the OEM alternator from RockAuto.

Things that got done this week include getting my PPE downpipes and installing them, and installing the adjustable rear sway bar links. Things to still do, weld in some new mufflers.
